2011 Events

Left to Right: CGI Initiative for Collaborative Government Executive Director Andrew McLauchlin, GSA Public Building Service Commissioner Robert Peck, DHS Chief Information Officer Richard Spires, GSA Administrator Martha Johnson, NRC Executive Director of Operations William Borchardt, NOAA Deputy Under Secretary for Operations Mary Glackin, NOAA Deputy CIO Zachary Goldstein, George Mason University Public Administration Program Director and CGI Initiative Founding Partner Paul Posner and CGI Initiative Fellow Molly O'Neill

In May, the CGI Initiative for Collaborative Government launched its new executive journal, Leadership! The event was held at the Harman Center for the Arts in downtown Washington, D.C. in partnership with George Mason University.

It was our honor to recognize federal leaders in environmental sustainability who are featured in the inaugural Spring 2011 issue, which focused on “Government’s Sustainability Moment” and was released in April in honor of Earth Day.

I want to extend a special thank you to executives highlighted in first issue of Leadership who were in attendance:  GSA’s Martha Johnson and Robert Peck, the NRC’s William Borchardt, DHS’s Richard Spires, NOAA’s Mary Glackin and NOAA’s Zachary Goldstein (who attended on behalf of NOAA’s Joseph Klimavicz). We are extremely grateful to you for sharing your stories and ideas with us to make the launch of Leadership a great success.

And thank you also to George Mason University’s Paul Posner and the Harman Family Foundation’s Barbara Harman for co-hosting the event. We greatly appreciate and value your partnership!
